People from all walks of life took part in the 9th Annual National Bible Day celebration at the SMX Convention Center Manila last January 26, 2026. Pastors, church leaders, and other attendees gathered together, worshiping God, listening to testimonies about the importance of God’s Word and actively participating in Bible-related activities.
The Philippine Bible Society also took part in the festivities. General Secretary Laura Valledo along with Deputy General Secretary for Ministry Operations Ptr. Marfeal Santiago, managers and staff of various departments, and United Bible Societies Global Translation Consultant Rev. Dr. Edgar Ebojo were present at the event.
Several items related to the work of Scripture translation in the country were displayed at the venue, including surviving manuscripts of the 1888 Pangasinan Gospel of John and the 1903 Tagalog New Testament, as well as a commemorative edition of the first complete Philippine language Bible translation—the Tagalog Ang Biblia. These gave the participants a glimpse into the long and rich history of Bible translation in our country.
In his opening prayer, National Bible Day Board of Trustee and Philippine Bible Society President Emeritus Bp.
May the Lord continue to bring life into our hearts and our homes through his Word!
