The journey of healing doesn’t end with personal recovery—it becomes a mission to help others find hope and healing too.

In 2024, a Group Healing Session under the Trauma Healing Program of the Philippine Bible Society was organized in Cuambogan, Tagum City. It was facilitated by certified training facilitators Ms. Faith Sison and Ptr. Sam Alvarez. During the GH session, participants engaged in activities that helped them express their pain and trauma, confront their wounds with the guidance of the Word of God, and find the courage to reach a new beginning. But their healing journey didn’t stop when they finished the course. Some of the participants from this session felt called to go further in their healing journey. They expressed their desire to continue to the Initial Equipping session—a training that would prepare them to help others who have experienced trauma, pain, loss, and wounds of the heart too. However, at that time, an Initial Equipping session was not yet included in the event.

On March 7-9, 2025, another Group Healing Session was held in Purok 3, La Filipina, Tagum City, Davao del Norte. It is again facilitated by Ms. Faith Sison, but this time, together with her husband, Ptr. Dan Sison. A total of 23 participants completed the sessions, including youth leaders, workers from Huyong-Huyong Nature Park Inc., and some from the previous Cuambogan batch. Those who desired to proceed to the Initial Equipping session continued their training on March 9-10.

As a result, eight participants successfully completed the Initial Equipping session and are now certified Apprentice Facilitators. This evidence proves that healing leads to a desire to help others heal.

Meanwhile, the Trauma Healing Program continues to grow, with a session in Cagayan de Oro from March 18-21 that includes both a Group Healing Session and an Initial Equipping session.

We hope that the program and its facilitators will reach more wounded hearts, bringing healing and the hope of new beginnings.
