The Philippine Bible Society’s mission is to make the Bible known, with the hope of seeing a transformed Filipino people. One of the ways this mission is being carried out is through the translation of the Scriptures into our heart languages.
On February 11, members of the Philippine Bible Society Management Committee, headed by General Secretary Laura Valledo, welcomed Dr. Ricardo Nolasco and Dr. Resty Cena to the Bible Society headquarters. Dr. Nolasco and Dr. Cena are professors of linguistics from the University of the Philippines Diliman and are advocates of Mother Tongue-Based Multilingual Education in the Philippines.
Their afternoon visit involved discussions ranging from morphosyntax theories to sociolinguistics, which are crucial to the work of the Bible Society, especially in Scripture translation.
May God continue to raise people who will be passionate in supporting the work of making his Word accessible to all Filipinos
