We are pleased to announce the assumption of Ms. Laura M. Valledo as the new General Secretary of the Philippine Bible Society, effective January 1, 2026.
Ms. Valledo has been serving the Philippine Bible Society since 2003, thus bringing into her new role more than two decades of dedicated service and institutional knowledge. She served as Associate General Secretary from 2021 to 2025, after holding key leadership and operational roles including Production Manager (2010-2021), Printing Plant Supervisor (2006-2010) and Process Control Officer (2003-2006). Prior to joining PBS, she also gained professional experience in production and process management in various organizations.
She holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (PUP). In preparation for her greater ministry role, she completed a program on leadership and management at the UBS (United Bible Societies) Academy of Leadership and Management in São Paulo, Brazil, equipping her with global perspectives in Bible ministry leadership.
Ms. Valledo succeeds Ms. Perry Cartera, whose four years of faithful service (2021–2025) as General Secretary left a lasting legacy in the Bible Society ministry. Ms. Cartera was part of PBS for a total of 37 years, contributing greatly to expanding the organization’s reach, strengthening partnerships, and responding creatively to the changing needs of Scripture engagement in the Philippines and beyond.
As the Philippine Bible Society enters this new season of leadership, we reaffirm our commitment to collaborating with churches, partners, and communities, so that God’s Word may continue to transform lives. We likewise invite our friends and partners to uphold Ms. Laura Valledo in prayer as she faithfully responds to the Lord’s commission to the Philippine Bible Society, in service to the Body of Christ and the Filipino people through faithful translation, responsible distribution, and meaningful engagement with the Bible.

Dear Laura,
Welcome to PBS as a new leader. I used to work at some paper trading company in Japan and was supplying thinprint paper made by Japanese paper manufacturer to PBS to print Bible. I was supplying for more than 10 years during Rivera through Nora Lucero time. Unfortunately Covid period affected our relationship. I retired previous trading company and joined leading European paper manufacturer called Delfort who has paper mill in both Finland and Austria. Now my position is sole sales agent in Asian market. Delfort has been supplying the high quality thinprint paper for Bible book. I wish if I could resume the sales of thinprint paper to your designated printing company hence am writing this mail.
