𝗣𝗕𝗦 𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗨𝗕𝗦 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺

The Philippine Bible Society (PBS), led by President and Chairman of the Board 𝗥𝗲𝘃. 𝗙𝗿. 𝗔𝗿𝗹𝗼 𝗕𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗼 𝗬𝗮𝗽, 𝗦𝗩𝗗, and General Secretary 𝗠𝘀. 𝗟𝗮𝘂𝗿𝗮 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗱𝗼, warmly welcomed the United Bible Societies (UBS) Global Bible Translation Team at the PBS Tower Hotel and Events Place last week.

During their stay, the Global Translation Consultants from the Asia-Pacific, the Americas, the Africas, and the Europe-Middle East regions will be discussing translation platforms, tools, and software that will aid various UBS translation projects worldwide.

Drawing from 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝟮:𝟭-𝟰, Fr. Arlo used a simple acronym—𝗣𝗕𝗦—to encourage the guests:

𝗣 – 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 (as this may be a historic first visit for many)

𝗕 – 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗕𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 (the core of our mission)

𝗦 – 𝗘𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗲𝘁𝘆 (build friendships and partnerships that transcend borders)

Fr. Arlo reminded everyone that it is the Holy Spirit who empowers Bible translation work and helps bring God’s Word to people in their own languages, for this generation and the next.

The following leaders were also present for this gathering: Prof. Alexander Schweitzer, the Director of the Integrated Bible Ministry; Rev. Dr. Marlon Winedt, the Team Leader of Translation Skills Facilitation; and Dr. Reinier de Blois, the Director of the Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship.

The PBS Leadership, together with 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝘂𝘁𝘆 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗳𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗴𝗼, 𝗨𝗕𝗦 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗱𝗴𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗯𝗼𝗷𝗼, and 𝗣𝗕𝗦 𝗧𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗠𝘀. 𝗩𝗲𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗻, extended a warm Filipino welcome to the delegates:
