MAKING THE BIBLE KNOWN

The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) is glad to host another Scholarly Editions Grant: Consultative Fellowship this year!

Following the first fellowship that took place last March, this event gathered students and scholars from various seminaries in the Philippines with the aim to further local research and scholarship in relation to the Word of God.

The program formally began with an opening prayer, followed by the welcoming remarks given by PBS General Secretary Mrs. Perry Cartera. The participants then introduced themselves and the institutions that they represented, leading to a group discussion where they were all given the opportunity to discuss possible avenues to share resources and work together to advance Philippine biblical scholarship.

United Bible Societies (UBS) Global Translation Consultant Dr. Edgar Ebojo went up to give an introduction to the UBS Greek New Testament and the Biblica Hebraica Quinta—the newest editions of the critical texts produced by leading biblical scholars. Then, to conclude the event, each participating institution received Scripture materials and books from PBS and the Deutsche Bibelgesselschaft (German Bible Society). PBS General Secretary Designate Mrs. Laura Valledo gave the closing remarks, where she also emphasized the importance of collaboration among these different seminaries and institutions.
