DAY 20: FREE KICK

Day 20

FREE KICK

John 8:36

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.

FREE KICK is a moment of redemption and opportunity; a reset after a foul, a pause that turns setback into potential. In football, a free kick is not just a restart of play; it’s a moment of precision, calm, and confidence under pressure. The wall stands firm, the crowd holds its breath, and one player steps forward to reclaim the moment. In life, God also grants us free kick moments; times when He restores our position, gives us another chance, and turns our pain into purpose.

A free kick begins where a foul occurred. What started as a disruption becomes the platform for a breakthrough. In life, God often uses interruptions and injustices as divine setups for elevation. The places where we’ve been hurt or hindered can become the very places where He displays His power. “What the enemy meant for evil, God meant for good” (Genesis 50:20).

Taking a free kick requires focus. The noise, the distance, the defense; all fade when your eyes lock on the goal. Similarly, in your spiritual journey, life’s distractions and disappointments fade when you fix your eyes on Jesus. He is your aim, your target, and your confidence. “Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith” (Hebrews 12:2).

A successful free kick blends skill with composure. The player doesn’t rush; they pause, breathe, and strike with intent. In life, God’s free kicks, His second chances, require the same posture. Don’t rush ahead. Take the moment to align with His will, breathe in His grace, and act in obedience. “Be still, and know that I am God” (Psalm 46:10).

A free kick is also a moment of trust. Sometimes the wall seems too close, the angle too sharp, or the distance too great, but the confident player knows that the right strike can still find the net. In life, faith works the same way. Even when circumstances look impossible, God gives you the power to curve the impossible into the possible. “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible” (Matthew 19:26).

Free kicks also remind us of grace. The foul may have been unfair, but the opportunity remains. Life may not always play fair, but God does. He is the God of restarts, of renewal, of second chances. Every time you fall, He places the ball before you again, whispering, “Try once more.” “His mercies are new every morning” (Lamentations 3:22-23).

And when you take your free kick; when you act on faith, speak truth, pursue purpose, or forgive boldly; He adds power to your strike. The ball lifts beyond human reach, and what looked blocked becomes breakthrough. “Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit,” says the Lord (Zechariah 4:6).

Ultimately, FREE KICK is a picture of God’s grace at work. Every setback can become a setup, every foul an opportunity, every mistake a moment for restoration. The whistle that stops your momentum can also start your miracle.

So, lets stand tall over our free kick moments. Focus your heart, breathe in faith, and strike with purpose. Because when God gives you another chance, it’s not just to play again; it’s to score the goal that changes everything.
