Earlier this week, members of the Philippine Bible Society’s Cordillera Cornerstone Oral Bible Translation project, United Bible Societies Global Translation Consultant Dr. Edgar Ebojo, PBS Translation Specialist, Prof. Alvin Bailon, Nida Institute for Biblical Scholarship IT Specialist Mr. Han Chung, and a Consultant from the Translators Association of the Philippines, Ms. Marie Castillo, were invited to witness the ordination and installation of Bishop Sean Mejia, D.D. as the third apostolic vicar of Tabuk in Kalinga. The current Papal Nuncio to the Philippines, Archbishop Charles Brown, presided over the ceremony.

This invitation served as a testament to the longtime partnership between PBS and the Roman Catholic Church, which began in the 1960s. To this day, the Bible Society continues working with Christians across different traditions to make God’s Word known to every Filipino.

Let’s continue to pray for the active PBS translators who are currently working on several Bible translation projects. Let’s also pray for the Cornerstone OBT team as they labor to bring God’s Word to their fellow Codillerans in Isneg Conner, Sadanga, Vanaw, and Masadiit!
