Writing contest puts a spotlight on unsung Bible heroes

David, Joshua, Moses and other favorite Bible characters are admired all over the world for their adventures, feats, and extraordinary faith, but they will take the back seat to make way for not so well known heroes in the Philippine Bible Society’s newest writing contest, “My Little Known Bible Hero.”
The contest is open to children ages 7-12. Participants may join by writing about a not-so-popular Bible character. The story of this character, written in either English or Tagalog, must be related to the participant’s personal experiences. Entries with a maximun of 100 words must be typewritten and should include participant’s name, address and telephone numbers. The stories may be sent through drop boxes placed at National Bookstore outlets or mailed to the Philippine Bible Society at 3961 Ramon Magsaysay Blvd., Sta. Mesa, Manila or e-mailed at biblehero@bible.org.ph . A free trip to HongKong Disneyland awaits the winner. The contest runs until December 16, 2005.
“My Little Known Bible Hero” writing contest is co-sponsored by National Book Store and ABC-5’s kids’ show, ASTIG.
