Waray Translation Work Underway

Work for the revision of the 1984 Samarenyo Popular Version New Testament (hereinafter, Western Waray New Testament) and the Northern and Eastern Waray translation of the Gospel of Mark have begun last October 1, 2014.
According to Translation Projects Assistant Jojee Martinez, the teams were formed after the translation workshop held in Tacloban City last August. The translation teams are composed of Joan Cyril Abello, Ulpiano Cabael, Rafael Canqu for Western Waray, Gideon Aliposa and Rhodora Bande for Northern Waray, and, Rennie Gesite and Iris Terana for Eastern Waray.
Meanwhile, she shared that the work on other translation projects continue to prosper despite the daily challenges. “By God’s grace, we will have completed translation work for the Tagalog Devotional Study Bible by year end, the Revised Magandang Balita Biblia Old Testament and Pinoy Version New Testament by the end of next year, the Ilocano Full Life Study Bible by 2016, and the Filipino Standard Version Old Testament by 2018,” she shared.
There are presently about 50 translators and reviewers working on the said projects. They are ably supervised by Translation Consultants Dr. Daniel C. Arichea, Dr. Anicia H. del Corro, Dr. Rhoneil M. Arevalo, and Dr. Edgar B. Ebojo in ensuring the accuracy and faithfulness of the translation to the original text.

I am a Bible Ambassador because I believe that the Bible can help people a lot. And knowing the Bible, people come in touch with the Lord Jesus Christ.

“It is a blessing to be able to support our local churches in need of Bibles and Bible study programs. It is our hope that they not only grow in terms of membership but also have the heart to extend spiritual help to others, just like how they have received help.”

“I praise and thank our Almighty God that, through PBS, I now own a Poimen version of MBB (Magandang Balita Biblia) in the national language of the Philippines – Tagalog.
Knowing Matthew 10:32-33, I read and study the Bible so that I will not be dismayed when the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Life is too short compared with the promise of eternal life in God’s Kingdom.”

I think this is very helpful to every readers. The word of the Lord are the food of our soul which we always need every minute of our life. I dont often read the Bible but everytime i open it, God was always like in front of me and speaking as what is something i'm just needing to hear. He speaks to me and i can feel it. A million thanks to You my Lord.
