UNCHANGING WORD CHANGES HER LIFE
For Teresa Bongtiwor, a volunteer Catechist in Banaue, Ifugao, Philippines Independence Day of 2012 will always be a memorable day because it was when she received her very own May They Be One (MTBO) Bible. On that day, MTBO Bibles were distributed to participants of the Verbum Domini workshop conducted by Auxiliary Bishop of Manila, Most Rev. Bishop Broderick Pabillo, D.D., and Episcopal Commission for Biblical Apostolate (ECBA) Executive Secretary Dr. Natividad Pagadut.
Teresa shared that since receiving her own copy of the Bible, her daily reading of the Word of God has brought positive changes to her character as a wife, mother and volunteer. Teresa added that her reading of the MTBO Bible has helped strengthen her relationship with Jesus Christ and cultivated in her the virtues of obedience, respect for elders and honesty. Bible reading and studying have also caused Teresa’s love to grow — not only for her family but also for other people. Indeed, “Your Word, O Lord, will last forever; it is eternal in heaven. Happy are those who follow His commands, who obey Him with all their heart. They never do wrong; they walk in the Lord’s ways” (Psalm 119:89, 2, 3). Teresa is a member of the ImmaculateConception Catholic Mission Parish led by Rev. Fr. Benito Tamang.
