Two Bible Society Staff Honored for Long Service
Two Philippine Bible Society staff members were recognized last April 27 for the long service they have rendered.
In a simple ceremony, Dr. Nora Lucero gave due recognition to company driver Dario Esponilla and Scripture Marketing Officer Marilou Maale, who have devoted 35 and 25 years of service, respectively.
Esponilla recounted his humble beginnings in the organization, joining as an assistant warehouse man in 1981 before becoming a full-time staff working as a janitor. He later learned how to drive and has been driving for PBS since 1988.
For her part, Maale’s journey with the Bible ministry began several weeks before getting her Office Administration degree in 1991, coming on board as a project assistant for the Revised Tagalog translation project. She also became a proofreader, typesetter, and part of the Finance Department before moving to the Sales and Distribution Department.
Both agreed that serving the same organization for as long as they have is difficult, but is made possible only by God’s grace.
