Aside from gambling and drinking, Ponciano Viodor also nursed an anger problem. “I become very silent when I get angry. But deep inside, I let my rage seethe. Every time I got furious about something or someone, murderous thoughts filled my head,” he shared.
Meanwhile, his wife Rita also shared that she used to be mean-spirited to people around her. “If we talk about being mean, I would have been number one,” she said.
But that was all in the past.
Since receiving their copies of the Bible, they have turned their back on their former ways and lived life according to God’s Word. “After reading the Bible regularly, I learned what was right and wrong. This had a huge impact on how I lived my life,” Ponciano said.
Rita said that God’s Word also impacted their family life. “The Bible has become our guide, words we live by, especially when we get to challenging circumstances,” she said. She added that her daily Bible reading taught her “the value of life and the kind of spiritual life that we need to live in peace and be happy.”
The Viodors also said that the Bible has drawn their family closer. “We pray together everyday now and regularly read the Bible as a family, too,” Ponciano explained.
“I am very grateful to God for using the May They Be One Bible Campaign to reach out to people like me. My family and I would not have been able to know the Good News had I not received my own copy of the Bible,” he concluded.
