Philippine Bible Society Associate General Secretary Elected as Treasurer of Board of Trustees of PCEC
Associate General Secretary of Philippine Bible Society, Mrs. Victoria Esperanza Cartera, was recently elected as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees of the Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches in the Philippines (PCEC). PCEC is the largest network of evangelical denominations, local churches, and para-churches and mission organizations for a transformed and Christ-centered Philippines.
The election was held during the 31st National Assembly of PCEC at the Widus Convention Center in Mabalacat, Pampanga from July 9 to 11, 2015. Close to 201 leaders from different churches, organizations and denominations joined the special event to converge, strategize and fellowship with one another. It was also a time of prayer for leaders and their ministries.
Mrs. Cartera will serve the PCEC Board from 2015 to 2017 along with Bishop Ellie Mercado, Chairman; Bishop Manny Carlos, Vice-Chairman; Dan Andrew Cura, Secretary and Board Members: Dr. Reynaldo Avante, Bishop Joe Dalino, Dr. Nomer Bernardino, Bishop Albert Patacsil, Bishop Val Chaves, and Rev. Stephen Punzalan.
PCEC also celebrated its 50th anniversary with the theme “One Master, One Message, One Mission,” based on Matthew 28:18-20. Outgoing members of the Board were recognized for their service. Among them was our General Secretary, Dr. Nora G. Lucero, who was Treasurer of the PCEC Board of Trustees from 2011 to 2015.
PBS rejoices with PCEC, a long-time partner in the Scripture ministry, as they reach five decades of service in the ministry of Scripture distribution and church-building.
