PBS, Tyndale Launch ESV-NLT Parallel Edition Bible
Bible lovers are in for a treat with the recent launch of the English Standard Version – New Living Translation Parallel Edition Bible last September 2, 2015 at the Philippine Bible Society UN Ministry Facility.
Associate General Secretary Perry Cartera hosted the event that was attended by institutional partners of the Bible Society that represented various local churches, Bible publishers, Bible distributors, Bible translators.
Jim Elwell of Tyndale House, publishers of the New Living Translation, gave a brief background on the NLT, including its features. PBS Trustees Mrs. Leonila Cruz and Rev. Dr. Ruth Billena also graced the event. Translation Consultant Bishop Daniel Arichea, Jr. also gave a short presentation, explaining the highlights and differences of Form- and Meaning-based translations.
“A parallel edition such as this (ESV-NLT) provides serious Bible readers the opportunity to easily go deeper in their study of God’s Word, as the mirror image of the original text (form-based) and accurate rendition of the original text that draws out its meaning (meaning-based) are simultaneously available in one page,” Bishop Arichea said.
The ESV-NLT Parallel Edition features a soft brown polyurethane cover and retails at PHP 950 at bookstores near you.
