PBS, PNP-HPG Ink Accord for TWRP

The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) formalized its partnership with the Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group (PNP-HPG) last February 29, 2016 for The Word Riders Philippines project.
PBS General Secretary Dr. Nora Lucero inked an accord that formalized the common ground of the three parties in their respective mandates and objectives aimed at promoting “traditional Filipino values and ethical practices in the context of the values education program of the Department of Education.”
“We praise God for the openness of Police Chief Superintendent Arnold Gunnacao and the PNP-HPG to help us bring God’s Word not only to the families of the Grade 8 students that will be reached by our Word Riders, but to their officers all over the country as well. It is our prayer that more units and offices of the PNP and our government would follow their lead,” she said.
Under the agreement PBS and TWRP will support the values education program of the PNP-HPG and provide a venue for the dissemination of road safety information as part of the PNP-HPG’s police-community relations.
Also signing the accord was PBS Trustee Atty. Gerard Mosquera, who acts as the leader of the TWRP team.
In July later this year, The Word Riders will bring about 2,000 copies of the Bible to Grade 8 students in the province of Ilocos Norte. Last February 12, they distributed 600 copies of the Bible to two national high schools in Gapan City, Nueva Ecija, as part of the National Bible Week celebrations this year.
