PBS Joins the UBS World Day of Prayer
On May 13, we stood with 148 national Bible Societies and affiliate national Bible Societies operating in 244 countries and territories in united prayer. The UBS World Day of Prayer, originally held on May 9, is remembered globally as the founding date of the United Bible Societies. This year, we celebrated the event virtually reminding us that God’s work in and through us could not be hindered by any temporal sickness or disease.
Here are some facts about UBS’ World day of Prayer:
Why pray and why pray together?
During the duration of the World Day of prayer, we encouraged our social media followers to join #PrayItForward Challenge, where they will tag their friends whom they are praying for. Hoping that it will have a ripple effect of praying for one another during the celebration. We hope even after the celebration, we are able to develop a habit of prayer.
Though physically separated, prayer created a communion among those who shared the same concern and hope. Friends and partners of the Bible Society joined us in celebrating the goodness and faithfulness of God amidst the global battle. To Him be the praise, glory, and honor!
