PBS exhibits at the 38th MIBF
The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) exhibited Bibles and Scripture materials at discounted, affordable prices at the 38th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF). And guess who celebrated Bible reading with us? They’re none other than SuperBook hero Gizmo and Oyayi TV heroes Bon Haribon and Kuya Maki! They took their posts at the PBS booth to encourage love of reading to kids and kids-at-heart. This year’s MIBF was held last September 13-17 at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia.
“A regular MIBF exhibitor for over 10 years, PBS also teamed up with the Translators Association of the Philippines, the Summer Institute of Linguistics, Evangelical Outreach, Inc., and CBN Asia to bring God’s Word both to the young and old.
As repository of God’s Word in affordable prices for Filipinos, PBS exhibited Bibles that were sold for as low as PHP 100 (both available in Magandang Balita Biblia and Good News Translation versions) as well as newly launched items such as the ESV Men’s Devotional Bible, ESV Women’s Devotional Bible, and Children’s Carry-Along Bible.
One visitor commented, “The Bible is the Word of God and the sword of the Spirit. I need it. It’s also important that others get a copy of the Bible. That’s why we bought several discounted Bibles here. In our church we give free Bibles to our guests.”
Kids were also engaged in discovering the Bible and learning good manners through affordable coloring book bundles presented by guest celebrity storytellers Miriam Quiambao and Precious Lara Quigaman. They led the launching of Oh, My Kulay! Storybook based on the TV Show Oyayi.
“I went here for literature books for my kids and family. The materials of the Bible Society are nice. Their coloring books are storybooks as well,” another visitor said.
