PBS, CMN Join Hands To Promote Bible Ministry

Through the help of Fr. Francis Lucas and Ariel Ayala of 846 Radio Veritas, Philippine Bible Society (PBS) General Secretary Nora Lucero promoted the Bible ministry all over the country.
Mrs. Lucero was interviewed in the radio program, Veritas Pilipinas heard nationwide over 846 Radio Veritas, and was simulcast over 28 AM and 20 FM affiliate radio stations of the Catholic Media Network (CMN).
In the interview, Mrs. Lucero shared that PBS offers a wide array of Scripture products that would suit the needs of peoples from all walks of life. This is in keeping with the Bible Society’s goal of having the Bible in every home.
“PBS continues in its mission of making the Bible available, understandable, accessible, and affordable to all,” she said, adding God’s Word is now available in the eight major Philippine languages, aside from the various English translations.
Moreover, she said, new editions of the Bible targeting specific groups or sectors like women, children, pastors, youth, and the visually disabled have been developed. The Bible Society also provides free copies of the Bible through its Ilaw sa Tahanan Bible distribution program for relocated informal settlers.
CMN, through Fr. Lucas, shares PBS’ goal of having the Bible in every home and has agreed to help in promoting and advancing the Bible Cause. Another segment of Fr. Lucas’ program features a daily Bible Trivia contest, where PBS supplies the questions, and aims to heighten awareness throughout the country about God’s Word and PBS.
