PBS Celebrates 111 Years of God's Goodness!
Since its establishment in 1899, the Philippine Bible Society (PBS) has existed to achieve the widest possible effective and meaningful distribution of the Holy Scriptures in languages that people understand, in media and formats that meet people’s needs, and at prices that people can afford, providing everyone the opportunity to pray, give, volunteer and engage with the Word of God. It is a challenging task for the Bible Society, yet we are moved to press on until we see a transformed Philippines through God’s Word, with every Filipino honoring and using the Bible as their manual to life.
In gratitude to the years God has blessed the Bible work in the country, PBS will be celebrating its 111th anniversary on November 25, 2010, Thursday, 8:30AM-10:00AM with a Thanksgiving Service and an Open House. Dr. Agustin “Jun” Vencer, Jr., the President of Global Transformation Ministries, Inc. (GTMI) and Regional Director for Asia of Discipling A Whole Nation (DAWN), will be our guest speaker. He will share on the topic “God’s Word: Alive and Effective in the Marketplace.”
PBS members and guests will get to know the ministry more through a Bible Fair to be staged by the different departments. The celebration will also be highlighted by the formal launch and dedication of the first Bible Museum in the country.
