PBS at the 40th Manila International Book Fair

The Philippine Bible Society (PBS) was once again blessed with the opportunity of becoming an exhibitor at this year’s 40th Manila International Book Fair (MIBF). Book lovers of all literary genres imaginable came together at the SMX Convention Center from September 11 to 15, 2019 to celebrate the joys of reading and writing. The PBS MIBF team took great care in designing the booth and displaying the Scripture offerings with love. We merged six booths (nos. 315-317 and 294-296) into one along aisle G-H, so that PBS booth visitors would have ample space to shop for Bibles. The wide walkways allowed Gizmo–who visited the booth on September 14 (Saturday) for photo opportunities with the younger visitors–to interact and entertain people with ease. The mini stage area we have created this year was also a big hit. PBS Events Coordinator Bryan Anastacio shared about two in-booth activi- ties that were particularly well-received. For the public Bible reading, he noted, “When the New Testament: Pinoy Version is being read out loud, it really piques people’s interest.” Regarding his pop-up Bible quizzes throughout the week, he shared, “People participated well. They liked the prizes that we gave them–copies of the Generics NT, Pinoy NT bookmarks, tracts, and more.”

#PraywithPBS: We pray for the Pinoy Version Psalms and Proverbs translation project to be completed by March 2020, for a September 2020 launch at the 41st Manila International Book Fair.

Thank you for supporting PBS at MIBF 2019! See you next year!

“It is a blessing to be able to support our local churches in need of Bibles and Bible study programs. It is our hope that they not only grow in terms of membership but also have the heart to extend spiritual help to others, just like how they have received help.”

“We are thankful since each individual now has a Bible. Our members will no longer have a hard time reading. Thank you also for the discipleship materials for these will help all in getting to know Jesus and to know how to be a better Christian.”

“Philippine Bible Society organizes trainings that really respond to the needs of people who are suffering.
It has well-equipped leaders who facilitate trainings and workshops.
Its mission to reach out to Filipinos using God’s Word is fulfilled through its works.”

“I praise and thank our Almighty God that, through PBS, I now own a Poimen version of MBB (Magandang Balita Biblia) in the national language of the Philippines – Tagalog.
Knowing Matthew 10:32-33, I read and study the Bible so that I will not be dismayed when the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Life is too short compared with the promise of eternal life in God’s Kingdom.”

I think this is very helpful to every readers. The word of the Lord are the food of our soul which we always need every minute of our life. I dont often read the Bible but everytime i open it, God was always like in front of me and speaking as what is something i'm just needing to hear. He speaks to me and i can feel it. A million thanks to You my Lord.
