Happy Adoption Day: The Adopt a Church Program Ushers in its 3rd Cycle

By God’s grace, we were able to rally support from very faithful and generous donors to make the Adopt a Church Program Training session and Distribution last April 22, 2019 a reality! 34 churches were adopted. The Lord is so good!

92 church leaders and representatives came from all over NCR to be trained by Mrs. Perry Cartera, PBS Associate General Secretary, in a discipleship-making. She placed much emphasis on the importance of discipleship, stressing that this is a command from our Lord Jesus Christ Himself.

19 Go, then, to all peoples everywhere and make them my disciples: baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, 20 and teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. And I will be with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:19-20

“Our goal here is to make disciples and we need each other. We may come from different churches but we must work together. One church cannot disciple to all,” she shared.

Participants share their main takeaways from the day’s lessons and activities:

“In your daily life, carry joy, love, and faith. Live with Christ with you always. Show Christ in you to others. In life there is struggle, but we can imitate Christ and be Christ-like.” –Joan Laco

“The real purpose of discipleship is to bring people to Christ-likeness through a process of developing their relationship with Jesus.” –Pastor Virgilio Reyes

“I learned new things. Age doesn’t matter in ministry or in leading people. I realized the training that I lacked, but now I know the right way. The training helped.” –Josh

“Discipleship is not based on age, but your heart – where the Lord leads you. If the Lord is not there in what we do, it’s useless.” –Cleric

“My knowledge on discipleship grew deeper. The Adopt a Church Program is really helpful. It helps the restoration of hearts for the Great Commission. I will apply what I learned from the AACP to teach those who don’t know Christ – for them to know God’s love and to spread discipleship to others.” –Pastora Lani Roldan

I am a Bible Ambassador because I believe that the Bible can help people a lot. And knowing the Bible, people come in touch with the Lord Jesus Christ.

“It is a blessing to be able to support our local churches in need of Bibles and Bible study programs. It is our hope that they not only grow in terms of membership but also have the heart to extend spiritual help to others, just like how they have received help.”

“We are thankful since each individual now has a Bible. Our members will no longer have a hard time reading. Thank you also for the discipleship materials for these will help all in getting to know Jesus and to know how to be a better Christian.”

It has well-equipped leaders who facilitate trainings and workshops.

“I praise and thank our Almighty God that, through PBS, I now own a Poimen version of MBB (Magandang Balita Biblia) in the national language of the Philippines – Tagalog.
Knowing Matthew 10:32-33, I read and study the Bible so that I will not be dismayed when the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Life is too short compared with the promise of eternal life in God’s Kingdom.”

I think this is very helpful to every readers. The word of the Lord are the food of our soul which we always need every minute of our life. I dont often read the Bible but everytime i open it, God was always like in front of me and speaking as what is something i'm just needing to hear. He speaks to me and i can feel it. A million thanks to You my Lord.
