Good News is Always Welcome: God’s Faithfulness Overflows in Our Faith Comes By Hearing Ministry

The past two years have been very eventful for the Faith Comes By Hearing (FCBH) Philippines team. At the end of 2018, a grand total of 43 languages were recorded by FCBH. Included in this number are the eight major Philippine languages (Tagalog, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, Ilokano, Bikol, Pampango, Pangasinan, and Samarenyo), English (Good News Translation), and 34 minor languages–most of which were New Testament portions only.

This year, seven additional minor languages were recorded; namely: Kalinga Butbut, Bikol Rinconada, Mangali, Sambali, Kalinga Majukayong, Yakan, and Ayta Abellen. Proclaimers with these languages will be ready for distribution by 2020.

The Proclaimer is a device that plays a recording of the New Testament, dramatized with music and other sound effects.

The Gospel Film brings the books of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John–word for word–to life on screen.

Last but not the least, we praise God for the 2,000 flash drives containing copies of the Gospel Film project that are ready to be given out to 500 church leaders and workers. These volunteers located within Metro Manila and also in the surrounding provinces will be managing the Gospel Film showings through the Bible Watching Groups (BWGs) in 2020.

We pray for all the Bible Watching Group (BWG) implementers who will be at the forefront of FCBH’s latest project known as the “Gospel Film.” May these volunteers never grow weary in their work for the Bible cause, so that more of our countrymen will get to experience the joys of reading (via physical Bibles), listening (via Proclaimers), and seeing (via the Gospel Film) God’s Word.

May the audience members of these films witness the beauty of Jesus’ ministry. We pray that the viewers will come to these screenings with open minds and hearts, especially as they watch scenes from Christ’s life, death, and resurrection. No matter who the attendees are and no matter what they have done in the past, we pray that God’s message of love will resonate with them and remain in their hearts forever.

We lift up to the Lord each member of FCBH’s Gospel Film team. We pray that their hard work will be able to bless many lives, both locally and internationally. May the Lord continue to grant each one with creativity, strength, good health, and godly wisdom. May their team remain united and steadfast through whatever challenges and obstacles they may face–in pre-production, the production itself, and post-production too.
