Congress Xtreme Challenge yields lives for the Lord!

It was a different kind of challenge for the 600 participants of the recently held National Youth Congress of the Wesleyan Church in the Philippines in Baguio City. For two whole afternoons, groups of 25 young people ranging from 12 – 35 years old, toured Metro Baguio with several goals in mind. Two of these goals were to share the gospel to people they meet and distribute the Bible Society’s Scripture selections: In Times Like These and Nothing Can Separate Us From the Love of God.

Included in the challenge were fun activities such as singing Christmas carols in the middle of Burnham lake, getting to know Baguio City’s history by visiting the museum run by the Department of Tourism, and gathering items such as horse hairs, pine cones, and Burnham Lake water. Each group was required to distribute copies of Selections and share God’s Word to people they meet in designated tourist destinations. As a result of the challenge, more than 8,000 copies of Scripture selections were distributed and 41 people prayed for salvation.

The Baguio Xtreme Challenge was one of the most popular activities during the congress, proving that sharing the Word can also be fun.
