Board Development and Retreat Empowers PBS Leaders
July 27, 2018
Members of the Board of Trustees, the Management, and a few other staff from the Philippine Bible Society (PBS) made their way to South Korea last May 7, 2018 for the Board Development and Retreat program.
This annual program is beneficial to PBS because it allows the leaders to develop and recommend programs for the improvement of the organization as a whole. Aside from training and leadership development, this program allows for other team building activities as well.
This year’s training was the first of its kind. What makes it unique is the fact that the focus was on leadership. There was heavy emphasis on discipline and service. It was also an opportunity to be acquainted with the ministry and binding operation of the Korean Bible Society as the group visited its offices.
After having gone through the whole experience, many expressed their re-fueled love for the Philippines. Others admitted to the shift in their mindsets towards discipline, sacrifice, and growth.
When asked about his time at the Canaan Farmers School, Mr. Gus Arguelles shared, “Great, fantastic. Every person who is called to lead and guide others should experience the Canaan spirit.”
One thing is certain. Those who attended this five-day retreat learned a lot about stewardship and sacrifice. They learned that Christ has already finished everything for us and our task now is to continue His mission. This mission entails sacrifice. We sacrifice because of love.
We are grateful to the Lord for giving our leaders opportunities such as this. Now, they are even more united in their passion and commitment towards making our vision a reality and carrying out our mission faithfully.
