It aims to impart PBS’ expertise and experience in Bible Translation, Biblical Studies and Linguistics, and other topics, essentially to make the Bible more understandable, and lead the participants to engage better with God’s Word. Topics include Bible interpretation, teaching Bible lessons to children, translation principles, Bible versions, textual criticism, and the like.

Target participants of seminars include pastors, priests, catechists, Sunday school teachers and other church workers, to improve their perspective and approach in ministry.

History

Starting out with Bible Translation (BT) seminars conducted first among PBS staff, the local Bible translation experts, or more familiarly called Translation Consultants, eventually extended the equipping to other individuals from different churches and organizations. These experts include Bishop Daniel Arichea, Dr. Anicia Del Corro, Rev. Noli Mendoza, and Rev. Carmel Cartera.
These seminars were later on dubbed under Bible Caravans, since the seminars reached not only Metro Manila but also the neighboring provinces in Luzon. In succeeding years, provinces in the Visayas and Mindanao areas would also be reached, as Bible distribution also extends its reach to more provinces, and PBS develops more auxiliary offices in cities like Cebu, Davao, and Pampanga.

In 2014, the seminars were renamed Bible Relevance in Modern Times Seminars, with the unchanging goal of equipping more people in studying and propagating God’s Word, the Bible.
