Being A.W.A.R.E of what you feed your soul
August 16, 2018
Take a look at your hand. Whether you are working at the moment or looking for entertainment, you could be holding a smartphone or a desktop mouse. But you have to be careful and learn to take a step back. Maybe you are consuming far too much in just a short span of time. Also, are you sure that what you are taking in is actually good for your soul?
Here are a couple of steps you can take in order to examine your content consumption and to instead make your Bible reading habit more consistent:
A – Ask if what you are watching, reading, and listening to glorifies and pleases God
You can initiate a conversation with God through your personal prayer time. Present all the content that you are consuming to the Lord.
W – Wait for God’s blessing
Read His Word as you wait for his approval. The Bible being our one true source of wisdom will shed light on your questions.
A – Alter your media consumption diet
Based on what God has been saying to your heart, you ought to make the necessary tweaks and alterations in your content consumption.
R – Replace with more meaningful content
There is so much that the Bible can offer. Aside from it being your guide to life, it also contains the loving promises of the ever faithful God. These words can ease your anxieties and fears and make you a more productive member of society.
E – Exalt and thank God for opening your eyes
Praise the Lord for all that He has revealed to you. After all, He is always after what is for your good and betterment.
Our lives can become unmanageable when we fill it with the wrong things. When the content we consume is not pleasing or glorifying to God, the effect is the same – stress and confusion. We can lose our way. But the Bible is our only answer – our answer to a life of peace, clarity, and meaning.
Let us turn to God’s Word daily. It will truly satisfy our soul’s need for nourishment.
