Adopt a Church Applicants Get Personal

AACP PPT10 - Philippine Bible Society

“What was your motivation in applying for the Adopt a Church Program (AACP)?”

The difficulty they experienced in providing Bibles for their church communities was the main reason that compelled each one to put their churches up for adoption into this program. Compiled below are three other reasons that really touched our hearts.

There are a lot of false prophets nowadays—those that are introducing themselves as Christ and those that are offering salvation. So, I saw the need to open the people’s eyes. I wanted them to see the truth because there is only one Truth and that Truth is the only being that can set us free. Unless you know the Truth, you will never know that you are living in the darkness. That Truth can only be found in the Bible. – Amador del Rosario from Norzagaray, Bulacan

My life changed when I came to know His words. Before knowing God, I used to be a drug addict and my life didn’t have any direction. I disqualified myself from even coming to know Him, not realizing that God was the only One who can qualify and disqualify. The first time I received a Bible was when I was still in the Middle East. A former Muslim came to me and introduced the Bible. From that day on, my life started to change. God’s words made it possible for me to begin again. I believe that He is calling us to spread His Word to other people, especially those who think that their lives have no hope. – Alfonso Baradero from General Trias

God commanded us to go and make disciples. The place we preach the Gospel in is an isolated area in Norzagaray, Bulacan. The residents are called Dumagats and they shared how there were foreign missionaries who went to their community to introduce Christ, but because there were no Scripture materials, it was impossible for them to grow. It was only when we arrived that they come to know who God really was, because of the free Bibles provided by this Adopt a Church Program. – Cyril Sergio Lugod from Norzagaray, Bulacan

I am a Bible Ambassador because I believe that the Bible can help people a lot. And knowing the Bible, people come in touch with the Lord Jesus Christ.

“It is a blessing to be able to support our local churches in need of Bibles and Bible study programs. It is our hope that they not only grow in terms of membership but also have the heart to extend spiritual help to others, just like how they have received help.”

“I praise and thank our Almighty God that, through PBS, I now own a Poimen version of MBB (Magandang Balita Biblia) in the national language of the Philippines – Tagalog.
Knowing Matthew 10:32-33, I read and study the Bible so that I will not be dismayed when the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Life is too short compared with the promise of eternal life in God’s Kingdom.”

I think this is very helpful to every readers. The word of the Lord are the food of our soul which we always need every minute of our life. I dont often read the Bible but everytime i open it, God was always like in front of me and speaking as what is something i'm just needing to hear. He speaks to me and i can feel it. A million thanks to You my Lord.
