Handwritten Unity Bible Writing Session at PBS

The PBS staff writing the Bible by hand

Last August 24, 2011, the Philippine Bible Society Staff finally get the chance to be part of history as they take turns in writing the Bible by hand at a Handwritten Unity Bible Session conducted exclusively for them during their staff fellowship. The staff, despite being all too familiar already with the project, are still elated and anxious nonetheless to take part in the activity as this was the first time that they would be involved in the actual handwriting session. Most, if not all were tense as they finally get the turn to write after a brief orientation, for fear that they might commit the slightest mistake.

Furthermore, like the other participants in previous writing sessions, the staff felt very much privileged to become part of this historic undertaking as the Handwritten Unity Bible is the first-of-its-kind in the country. Verses from Psalm 102 – 104 were allocated to each of the staff prior to the handwriting session in order to give them time to practice writing their verses. Thanks to the generous donations of the staff who were more than willing to give to the cause, this HUB writing session managed to raise P16,710.00.

The 2-year HUB project which is in support of the May They Be One Bible campaign, aims to gather Filipinos nationwide to write 35, 489 verses from the 78 books of the Bible, including the Deuterocanonical books. It also aims to raise Php30 million for the May They Be One campaign, which will be use to produce five million Bibles for five million families in a span of seven years.
