350 Pastors, Church Workers Equipped in BRIMS

BRIMS1 - Philippine Bible Society

Three hundred-fifty pastors and church workers were equipped following their participation in Bible Relevance in Modern Times Seminars (BRIMS) that were held in January 2016, two of which were part of the 2016 National Bible Week celebrations.

Last January 16, 17 pastors and church workers were trained by Rev. Mel Cartera in the effective use of the Cebuano Topical Study Bible in Liloan Cebu. Another 82 received instructions in Hermeneutics in a seminar featuring Philippine Bible Society Chaplain Rev. Noli Mendoza last January 18. Twenty-eight more individuals were equipped in the same topic in another seminar under Rev. Cartera last January 22. Both seminars were conducted at the PBS Ministry Facility along United Nations Avenue in Manila.

Rev. Mendoza and Rev. Cartera trained another 141 individuals in the seminars that were held last January 25 and 29 also at the PBS UN Ministry Facility.

Thirty-year-old Dan Anthony Aguilan of DDICFM Blessed Church Cabuyao was grateful for the Bible Society’s training program. “Maraming salamat ginamit kayo ng Panginoon. Naway marami pang pagkakataon na magkaroon ng seminar na ganito (I thank the Lord for using you. I hope there will be more seminars like this.),” he said.

Meanwhile, 78-year-old Thelma Cortez from the UCCP Cosmopolitan Church expressed hope that there would be more seminars to “help us understand our Bible reading.”

The BRIMS is a flagship program of the Bible Society conducted by Bible scholars designed to equip church leaders and workers and explain to Bible lovers in much simpler terms why the Bible remains relevant today.

Aside from the training, the participants also received 42,500 copies of New Testament portions for their respective churches and outreaches, while 280 of them were given their personal copies of the English Standard Version Global Study Bible Ministry Edition.

I am a Bible Ambassador because I believe that the Bible can help people a lot. And knowing the Bible, people come in touch with the Lord Jesus Christ.

It's an honor and a privilege for me to support the Philippine Bible Society - to reach out to the unreachable people by giving Bibles not only in the Philippines but the whole world.

“It is a blessing to be able to support our local churches in need of Bibles and Bible study programs. It is our hope that they not only grow in terms of membership but also have the heart to extend spiritual help to others, just like how they have received help.”

Ptr. Callum TabadaUCCP Cosmopolitan Administrative Pastor (AACP benefactor)

“We are thankful since each individual now has a Bible. Our members will no longer have a hard time reading. Thank you also for the discipleship materials for these will help all in getting to know Jesus and to know how to be a better Christian.”

“Philippine Bible Society organizes trainings that really respond to the needs of people who are suffering.
It has well-equipped leaders who facilitate trainings and workshops.

Miriam del RosarioExecutive director at The Birthright Educators Foundation

“I praise and thank our Almighty God that, through PBS, I now own a Poimen version of MBB (Magandang Balita Biblia) in the national language of the Philippines – Tagalog.
Knowing Matthew 10:32-33, I read and study the Bible so that I will not be dismayed when the Lord Jesus Christ comes. Life is too short compared with the promise of eternal life in God’s Kingdom.”

I think this is very helpful to every readers. The word of the Lord are the food of our soul which we always need every minute of our life. I dont often read the Bible but everytime i open it, God was always like in front of me and speaking as what is something i'm just needing to hear. He speaks to me and i can feel it. A million thanks to You my Lord.
