i-Proclaim Launched!

iproclaim in bonifacio shrineNational Bible Week (NBW) 2010 kicks off with i-Proclaim!, a historic, ecumenical and public oral reading of the Bible. i-Proclaim! was held last Monday, January 25, from 7:00AM to 7:00PM at the Bonifacio Shrine near Manila City Hall.

In his opening remarks, Philippine Bible Society (PBS) President Emeritus and Bishop of Sorsogon, called on all Filipinos to set aside differences and focus on our commonality in Christ and to continue sharing the Word of God to our fellowmen.

True to this year's NBW theme--May They Be One: The Word of God is the Life and Mission of the Church, more than 120 individuals from various sectors of society took part in the event. The Bible reading was led by Manila City Mayor Alfredo Lim followed by representatives from the Roman Catholic Church, Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches in the Philippines, NGO's and Para-Churches as well as schools and universities and other city government officials.
